Creating the cvsid file from subversion Id strings does not require a subversion working copy to be present (e.g. it also works after export to a snapshot package). The SVN technique is made the default and is only replaced by git, if git is present.

Discard tolerate-redundant flag. On 07.11.2012 Peter Duffner and Thomas Forbriger verified that sample values from data lines with identical time stamps must be added in order to obtain the appropriate count value as reported on the display of the Thies DL1 data logger (see doxygen documentation). Since 20.3.2014 DL1logger considers duplicate time stamps as part of normal operation. The respective command line option is obsolete and ignored. The source code still does not compile due to unfinished fragments from issue A (data path selection).
